Derryen was born on July 17, 1998, and laid to rest in 2023. He was our only son and the oldest of his three sisters. He was diagnosed with autism at the age of two, but despite his diagnosis, he was everything people thought a child with special needs wouldn’t be: a pure entertainer who performed in every school play and show, often taking the lead role and acting role. As we grew older, we made sure Dede, as we nicknamed him, never missed out on a regular existence. He would hang out with his parents at the local pub, where he would claim the dance floor, and even worked doing door dash with his mom.

In The Eyes of Barbaretta-Fisher Cudjoe

“I am trying to live without the person I need most in the world 💙🧩💔. My kid was a true light shining bright, and there would never be another him. I never knew life could be this hard, but I am coping with him spiritually guiding me.”
